SS Innovations Subsidiary Graduates First Cardiac Robotic Surgery Training Class

SS Innovations International (NASDAQ: SSII) announced that its subsidiary, the SS International Centre for Robotics Surgery (SSICRS), has graduated the inaugural class of its Cardiac Robotic Surgery Training program. The five-day course brought together 33 participants from seven countries and 16 international faculty members for classroom instruction, live surgical demonstrations and hands-on training using the company’s SSi Mantra surgical robotic system.

SS Innovations said SSICRS plans to expand its educational offerings through additional condensed training programs covering multiple surgical specialties, including urology, gynecology, thoracic, colorectal, gastrointestinal and general surgery. The company said the training center combines modern lecture facilities, advanced simulation labs, tele-proctoring and online learning modules to support surgeon education and the broader adoption of robotic-assisted surgery.

The graduation of this first class marks a significant milestone for SS Innovations as it seeks to make robotic surgery more accessible globally. By training surgeons from seven countries, the program directly addresses a key barrier to adoption: the lack of trained personnel capable of performing robotic-assisted procedures. The expansion into other specialties could further accelerate the use of robotic surgery in fields where minimally invasive techniques offer patient benefits such as reduced recovery times and fewer complications.

For the broader industry, this initiative signals a growing emphasis on education and training as critical components of surgical robotics adoption. As more hospitals and surgical centers consider integrating robotic systems, the availability of comprehensive training programs becomes essential. SSICRS’s approach, which combines in-person instruction with simulation and remote proctoring, may serve as a model for other companies and institutions looking to build a skilled workforce.

The impact on patients could be substantial. Increased adoption of robotic-assisted surgery often leads to better outcomes, including shorter hospital stays and lower infection rates. By training a global cadre of surgeons, SS Innovations is helping to ensure that these benefits reach a wider population. The company’s focus on affordability and accessibility, as highlighted in its mission, suggests that its systems may be particularly suited for healthcare systems in emerging markets where cost is a major consideration.
