TES (SZSE: 003019.SZ), a leading provider of touch display solutions, has officially inaugurated and put into operation Phase I of its manufacturing base in Rayong Province, Thailand. The grand opening ceremony, held with local government officials and supply chain partners, marks a significant expansion of TES's manufacturing footprint in Southeast Asia and signals a new stage in its global strategic layout. With an initial investment of US$24 million, the new plant is set to produce interactive smart displays, interactive all-in-one PCs, and smart automotive displays, with expected production value in the tens of millions of US dollars for the local economy.
The Rayong plant, located within the WHA Industrial Estate, covers a total land area of 42,399 m² with a building area of 26,630 m², making it TES's largest single manufacturing base in Southeast Asia to date. The facility will systematically execute the full migration and integration of the company's Chonburi and Rayong operations in phases. Phase I includes production plant, administrative offices, and employee living support facilities, with a current workforce of approximately 300 employees. The plant's monthly planned capacity includes 65,000 units of 7–55" touch monitors and all-in-one PCs, 300,000 units of SMT-related products, 120,000 sets of automotive touch display modules, 120,000 units of automotive optical bonding products, and 30,000 units from automotive assembly lines. Future plans include adding one additional assembly line and two bonding lines to meet stable delivery requirements for medium-to-large batch OEM and ODM orders.
The commissioning of the Rayong plant brings multiple strategic value upgrades for TES's global OEM/ODM partners. Situated in Thailand's Eastern Economic Corridor (EEC), the plant is about 1.5 hours (113 km) from Bangkok Suvarnabhumi International Airport and 1 hour (70 km) from Laem Chabang Deep Sea Port, enhancing international trade and logistics efficiency. The plant has received Investment Promotion Privileges (BOI) certification from the Thai government, ensuring a high-quality production environment. By offering flexible options for country of origin, TES assists clients in adapting to changing global trade environments, optimizing tariff structures, and mitigating single-region trade risks. Through cross-regional multi-base synergy, TES establishes a capacity redundancy framework to buffer against regional supply chain fluctuations and guarantee order delivery stability. This move is particularly important as global supply chains face increasing uncertainties, and TES's dual-core smart manufacturing strategy—grounded in dual manufacturing bases in China and Thailand—provides customers with higher supply chain resilience and more flexible delivery capabilities.
Kevin Lee, Chairman of TES, stated that the commissioning of the Rayong plant marks the full implementation of TES's global 'Dual-Core Smart Manufacturing' strategy. He emphasized that the cutting-edge technology applications produced at the facility will generate significant production value for the local economy and help global customers mitigate trade risks and capture market opportunities. A representative of the Rayong District Office welcomed TES's investment and looked forward to the company driving local supply chain development and job growth.
The Rayong plant has fully implemented TES's globally unified quality management system, ensuring that all global products adhere to consistent high-quality standards from supplier management to final outgoing inspection.
