The Community Investment Organization CAHEC announced the appointment of Corine Sheridan to its Board of Directors, effective January 1, 2026. Sheridan brings more than four decades of specialized experience in affordable housing finance and investment, enhancing the board's capacity as CAHEC advances its mission of building stronger communities through affordable housing and supportive services. Her extensive background and long-standing commitment to the sector are expected to provide valuable strategic guidance for the organization's future direction.
Sheridan retired in late 2024 after a distinguished career focused on expanding nationwide access to affordable housing. Her most recent role was Senior Vice President and Head of Acquisitions at Berkadia from 2021 to 2024, where she led the Tax Credit Syndication team's nationwide origination and acquisition strategy. In that position, she oversaw complex transactions and collaborated closely with tax credit investors across the country to support the development and preservation of affordable housing communities.
Prior to Berkadia, Sheridan spent nearly two decades at Boston Capital, serving as Director of Originations from 2003 to 2021. During her tenure, she was responsible for developing and executing the firm's targeted nationwide origination strategy, helping expand its impact while supporting developers and partners committed to affordable housing. Her leadership played a key role in directing capital to communities with critical housing needs across the United States.
In 2024, Sheridan co-founded Sheridan Consulting, a firm providing financial and organizational expertise to nonprofits, housing authorities, and other affordable housing practitioners. Through this work, she continues to support mission-driven organizations by offering strategic guidance, operational insight, and deep industry knowledge. Her continued commitment is also reflected in extensive nonprofit leadership, including serving on the boards of the Light House Shelter in Annapolis, Maryland, the Anne Arundel County Affordable Housing Coalition, and the Real Estate Committee of True Ground in Arlington, Virginia.
Dana Boole, President & CEO of CAHEC, stated that Sheridan is a passionate advocate for affordable housing whose understanding of market dynamics, earned respect among peers, and deep-rooted relationships position her to make a strong impact on the organization's highly engaged board. CAHEC is a community development organization that strengthens communities by providing affordable housing and supportive service initiatives to residents in the Southeast and Mid-Atlantic regions. The organization engages in diverse product areas including low-income housing tax credits, historic tax credits, new markets tax credits, and renewable energy credits, while also offering loan programs, wellness and education initiatives for residents, affordable housing development, and property management services.
