Lahontan Gold Strengthens Management Team Ahead of Santa Fe Mine 2027 Production Restart

Lahontan Gold Corp. (TSX.V: LG) (OTCQB: LGCXF) has announced three additions to its management team as the company accelerates its transition from mine developer to mine builder, targeting a 2027 production restart at the Santa Fe Mine in Nevada. The appointments come as Lahontan advances permitting, mine planning, and preparation for construction and operations.

Tony Gesualdo has rejoined Lahontan as vice president of exploration. Gesualdo previously served as exploration manager from 2020 to 2023 and was instrumental in the initial Mineral Resource Estimate for the Santa Fe Mine. His return brings continuity and deep technical knowledge of the project's geology and resource potential.

Michael Kubel joins as senior mine engineer, bringing over a decade of experience in Nevada open-pit gold mining and heap-leach operations, including work at the Florida Canyon and Hycroft mines. His operational expertise will be critical as Lahontan moves into detailed mine planning and eventual production.

Jen Earle has been appointed to lead investor relations and business development. With two decades of experience in natural resources, capital markets, and investor engagement across the LSE, ASX, and TSX markets, Earle will help strengthen Lahontan's communication with the investment community and support its growth initiatives.

Kimberly Ann, Founder, Executive Chair, CEO, and President, stated that these additions strengthen the company's technical, operational, and business development capabilities as it advances the Santa Fe project. The management expansion is a key step in Lahontan's strategy to execute its mine development plan and restart production by 2027.

The Santa Fe Mine project has significant historical production: between 1988 and 1995, it produced 359,202 ounces of gold and 702,067 ounces of silver from open pit mines using heap-leach processing. The project currently hosts a Canadian National Instrument 43-101 compliant Indicated Mineral Resource of 1,539,000 oz Au Eq (48,393,000 tonnes grading 0.92 g/t Au and 7.18 g/t Ag, together grading 0.99 g/t Au Eq) and an Inferred Mineral Resource of 411,000 oz Au Eq (16,760,000 tonnes grading 0.74 g/t Au and 3.25 g/t Ag, together grading 0.76 g/t Au Eq), all pit constrained. These figures are detailed in the Preliminary Economic Assessment Technical Report effective December 10, 2024.

Lahontan plans to update the Santa Fe Preliminary Economic Assessment and drill test its satellite West Santa Fe project during 2025. The company continues to focus on advancing the Santa Fe Mine towards production, which would contribute to the local economy and the broader gold mining sector in Nevada.

The addition of experienced personnel is a positive signal for investors and stakeholders, as it demonstrates the company's commitment to de-risking the project and executing its development plan. The Santa Fe Mine restart could provide a significant boost to the regional mining industry, creating jobs and economic opportunities.
