Returnstar Technology, a global provider of smart education and collaboration solutions, has unveiled the Q-NEX Smart Lectern SL100, an integrated digital podium designed to address the growing complexity of modern presentation environments. The launch, announced on August 29, 2026, aims to simplify presentation and AV operations for professional spaces such as executive meeting rooms, training facilities, and seminar halls.
Traditional lecterns often fall short in today's technology-driven settings, where presenters juggle multiple displays, content sources, audio devices, and control systems. The SL100 bridges this gap by integrating audience communication, content interaction, and system control into a unified three-screen design. A dedicated 23.8-inch Full HD front-facing display allows for seamless presentation of meeting information, event schedules, and welcome messages. This content can be played locally via USB or updated remotely through a mobile app, eliminating the need for additional display devices.
For presenters, the SL100 features a 23.8-inch interactive pen and touch display paired with a built-in Windows PC, enabling direct interaction with presentation materials. Support for Microsoft Pen Protocol (MPP)-compatible pens facilitates natural writing and annotation, reducing reliance on external laptops or separate interactive displays. This integrated approach provides a familiar and seamless experience, akin to using a personal computer.
AV control is also streamlined. The lectern incorporates a 3×3 matrix switcher, device control, presentation timing, and audio adjustment into its integrated control panel. Crucially, these core local controls function without an internet connection, ensuring essential operations remain reliable even in complex network environments. This feature makes the SL100 easier to deploy in settings where network configuration is challenging.
Beyond individual rooms, the SL100 extends its utility through the Q-NEX Platform, enabling remote management via a web console or mobile app. Administrators can oversee the lectern and connected devices across multiple spaces, offering a practical solution for maintaining presentation technology across an organization.
The SL100 is part of the broader Q-NEX Digital Podium Series, which includes the NDP200 and NDP600 for campus environments. The freestanding NDP200 suits larger venues like auditoriums and lecture halls, while the desktop NDP600 fits classrooms with existing lecterns. Despite differing applications, all models share an integrated approach, combining presentation, AV control, interaction, and device management to create more efficient and future-ready spaces.
