University Orthopaedic Associates (UOA) announced that six of its surgeons have been named 2026 Castle Connolly Top Doctors, an honor bestowed on only 7 percent of licensed physicians nationwide. The recognized surgeons are Hesham Abdelfattah, MD; Christopher Doumas, MD; David A. Harwood, MD; Timothy P. Leddy, MD; James T. Monica, MD; and Kenneth G. Swan, Jr., MD. All are board-certified and fellowship-trained orthopaedic specialists at UOA, a leading practice providing complete musculoskeletal subspecialty care across New Jersey for five decades.

Castle Connolly Top Doctors are nominated by peer physicians and selected by a physician-led research team based on criteria including medical education, training, hospital appointments, and disciplinary histories. Doctors cannot pay to be selected. The recognition underscores the surgeons' dedication to advancing orthopaedic care and improving patient outcomes in the region.
