TruGolf's Polymath Acquisition Yields First Tokenization Deal for Franchise Equity Records

TruGolf Holdings, Inc. (NASDAQ: TRUG) announced that its franchise subsidiary, TruGolf Links Franchising LLC, has entered into an intercompany agreement with Polymath Research Inc., its recently acquired tokenization subsidiary, to migrate TruGolf Links equity records onto Polymath's regulated digital securities infrastructure. The agreement, signed six days after TruGolf completed its acquisition of Polymath on Oct. 8, 2026, represents the first Polymath engagement within the combined company.

Under the agreement, Polymath will establish a tokenized capitalization table on its Polymesh blockchain, incorporating investor onboarding, identity verification and transfer restrictions to support regulatory compliance. This initiative is designed to support TruGolf Links franchise expansion, including commitments for more than 221 future locations across New Jersey, New York and Illinois, while laying the groundwork for an equipment leasing program and fractional franchise ownership opportunities for qualified franchisees. An initial rollout is targeted for the first quarter of 2027.

The move matters because it signals how established consumer brands are beginning to adopt blockchain-based solutions for core business functions like equity management. By tokenizing franchise ownership records, TruGolf aims to enhance transparency and efficiency in managing a growing network of locations. It also opens the door to fractional ownership, potentially lowering barriers for franchisees and enabling new investment models. For the broader franchise industry, this could set a precedent for how ownership and leasing structures are managed, especially as companies seek innovative ways to finance expansion.

TruGolf, founded in 1983, has a long history of developing indoor golf solutions, including award-winning video games, hardware, and the E6 CONNECT e-sports platform. The company's mission is to make golf more available, approachable, and affordable through technology. The integration of Polymath's regulated digital securities infrastructure could further this mission by streamlining franchise operations and attracting a wider range of investors and franchisees.
